So, we have started!
For our first deadline we are hoping to have started on our assets and have an adequit amount of references. Our main focus, however, is art syle!
To start, Alema found this really amazing video of Bangladesh that shows many parts of the culture we need to see. I am also in the process of asking a few veterans I know about actual fighter jets.
Our film is set in the 70s, so we need to find not only reference for culture but also time period. Many things are the same or similar but there have definitley been changes since then. With that in mind I went searching and wow was that hard. This was a time where the country was at war, more like a genocide, but because of that there is very little resources.
I found these videos of Dhaka, the capitol.
Although they have bad image quality, it actually is some of the better sources I found.
With these videos I made a few concepts, that I don't want to reveal just yet since there isn't many, I am still in the process of gathering sources.
I also realized that something very important is textiles. So, naturally I looked up fashion from the 70s, which was not as hard to find as videos of life are.
I found this small paragrph about fashion.

Bell bottoms, bell bottoms, bell bottoms.
At this point is when I realized I should proably figure out a little more about the liberating war and the general culture of Bangladesh in the 70s. It was very much covered up but that doesn't mean that it can't be uncovered.
So, for this upcoming week that is what I will be spending my time doing.
See ya later!
