So, with the next pass coming one of my main tasks is pumping out as many main assets as quickly as possible.
The list that was shown last week shows what I have done this week. I finished the trees and jack and marbles. I also started on the market place vendor stands. The trees are being looked at again because we also realized that we have wind.
With the trees we are probably going to use speed tree, but we are still experiementing and researching that. I also found this amazing video speaking about creating a specific lined art style. He shows how HE achieves this art style and how to do it digitally. This is that:
Here are also a few more videos I found on stylization in general:
With that in mind, I decided to start on the marketplace stands concepts. I have a struggle with creating concepts for objects and I honestly find it easier to create concepts for people. So I made a concept of a vendor and that helped me start on the style of the stands themselves.
So obvisouly I still need to have some sort of reference for a stand, but this still helped.
I often use LEGOs as reference, and for this in particular it was great and I found so many amazing ones. Here are a few:
This last one is going to be great as reference for the stand with the radio on it. I found all of these on Pinterest which is where I find most of my references.
I got started on work with that. Now with the idea of "modular" I don't want them to be like regular modular builds. I am making two separate that face two different directions. I made them super simple because I will have items as ornamentation sort of. That's the "modular" part. I will make a bunch of smaller objects that can be easily moved from one stand to the other.
Its, very rudemtary but it's also not the most important part. The idea is to have storage items and items for sale as the parts that make these stands "stand" out. For example, I have blocked a wooden bucket and have them in from of these stands where I can put anything in it. I can make one a resturaunt by adding chairs instead of buckets. I will have items hanging and will as some shelves in certain stands. I will basically map out 4 different types of stands so I can dispurse them in the marketplace.
Some "stands" are actually just rugs on the ground but its sort of the same idea with the ornamentation. Buckets, stools, basically anything that can decorate the base object. Much like the LEGO stands above.
Here is an example:
The next step after making the decrom I am going to start reassessing the bird concept. So, his name is Bajpaki. It means bad bird and we got the critique that he wasn't very scary or bad for that matter, so I am going to start looking into making the bird scarier. We had the idea to make it into a mech. So with my love of Gundams I have deciede to take on the task of redesigning the bird. We already have some great mechanized bird reference from the ai generated stuff, so I will start with that.
With that we also readdressed the confusing difference between the "two villages," instead we decided to make the destroyed village, into a school house. So, the children at the beginning are going to be leaving the school as our introduction. We follow the girl as she leaves the school (more specifically) into her home where we meet her brother. The film plays out the same until we stumble across the "destroyed village" now school house, so there will be more of a connection to the destruction and why the children are willing to fight against this bird. We haven't fully fleshed out the details but it'll be somewhere along those lines. The idea is that there are no casualties because the children are going to be playing in the feilds so it will be a lot less heavy and more about the children specifically.
See ya l8r!
